The Oscars Controversy

It was recently announced (December 7) that Kevin Hart has stepped down from hosting the Oscars due to past homophobic tweets. Between 2009 and 2011 Hart had taken to twitter to use derogatory language and make insulting tweets about sexuality. One tweet that has been brought back to the public’s attention is from 2011, where he stated he would break his daughters doll house over his son’s head if he tried to play with it. Since Hart has been announced as host of the Oscars he has went onto twitter and started deleting old homophobic tweets. After Hart took to Twitter resigning from the role of host he was still slammed with backlash in the comments including the head of an LGBT civil advocacy group.
